Impersonating Metal Clay Alchemist

Please shop safely and make sure you are on our official website before placing an order.

I was recently contacted by a new customer who wanted to know whether Metal Clay Alchemist was affiliated with a website called metalclayalchemiststore.shop.

After investigating, I discovered three websites that had copied our products, photographs, product descriptions, and even our logo. These websites were designed to look like our legitimate business.

I was able to get these websites taken down, but I am concerned that they may reappear under different domain names. Copying our entire product catalogue, photographs, and descriptions takes considerable effort, so I want to make sure our customers know what to watch for.

Our ONLY official website

Please bookmark our website and use it whenever you shop with us:

https://www.metalclayalchemist.ca

We own several other domain names, including the .com version, but these redirect to our official .ca website.

Before placing an order, please take a moment to check the website address in your browser's address bar. A website can look completely authentic, use our logo, and display our actual products and photographs without being operated by us.

How to spot a suspicious website

Here are some warning signs to watch for when shopping online:

• Prices that seem too good to be true. Deeply discounted products, especially when the prices are dramatically lower than those of established suppliers, should raise concerns.
• Missing contact information. Look for a legitimate business email address, telephone number, and other ways to contact the seller.
• No business location. A reputable business should provide clear information about where it operates.
• An unfamiliar website address. Check the domain carefully. A website using our name or logo is not necessarily our website.
• Pressure to buy quickly. Be cautious of countdown timers, claims of extreme urgency, or offers that seem designed to prevent you from checking the details.

Remember, a professional-looking website is not proof that a business is legitimate. Fraudulent websites can copy real businesses down to the smallest detail.

What are these fraudulent websites trying to do?

These websites may be designed to take your money and collect your personal and payment information.

You could pay for an order that never arrives while also exposing your name, address, credit card details, and other information. If you enter payment details on a fraudulent website, you may need to contact your financial institution to protect your account.

There is another consequence, too. When customers pay for products they never receive, legitimate businesses can suffer. Customers may understandably lose trust in the business whose name and products were stolen, even though that business had nothing to do with the fraudulent website.

Please help us spread the word

Metal Clay Alchemist has worked hard to serve the metal clay community, and we value the trust our customers place in us. I want you to feel confident when ordering your clay, tools, and supplies.

Before you buy, check the address. If the price looks too good to be true, take a closer look.

If you come across a website that appears to be impersonating Metal Clay Alchemist, or if you are unsure whether a website or offer is legitimate, please contact us before placing an order. We would much rather answer your questions than have you risk losing your money.
